Arthur and I have been out and about a bit this winter season, especially since there's been so much snow (and ice) around. We took time this week to stop at Ocean Beach, our favorite childhood haunt, and at Harkness Estate, yet another place teaming with memories. I had never been to these places in the winter before! Ocean Beach was so close as we were working right around the corner. We decided to stop in order to, first, see what the snow looks like on a beach, truly a "blanket" covering over the sand, and, second, to catch perhaps a stunning sunset made even more beautiful by the clear and dry atmosphere. It seems every winter we find a special place to take pictures. One January, shortly after Charlie Page gave us our little Casio cameras, we stopped in Misquamicut, RI and jumped out at the beach where we'd spent a few days the summer before. The photo shoot was marvelous, and Art and I agreed that winter can provide some of the best photo opts. We seem to find that special time and place to take pictures, even when our hands are freezing and we're exhausted and hungry after work. Kittens

We have two additions to the family. Shortly before Halloween, we took in two kittens which were born September 1 at our neighbor's house. Lincoln is the orange cat, but we have yet to find a name for the black one. Our daughter likes "Salem," after the cat on TV's "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" but we keep tossing other names around. For one thing, we initially thought it was a "she" and named it "Zelda." That was such a good name! "Link and Zelda," like the Ninendo game. Art had come up with that. However, the vet clued us in on the black cat's real sex and we had to start from scratch again. Naming two cats, especially litter mates, is not
